71. Errant entertainment outlet bosses may be banished

Penang Police have warned entertainment outlet owners whose premises are frequently raided that they would be banished from the state.

George Town OCPD Asst Comm Azam Abd Hamid said yesterday that police would also recommend to the district office to revoke their licences.

“The same warning goes to hotels and health centres, which act as fronts for brothels,” he said.

“Countless warnings have been issued and it is now time we take tough action against them.”

ACP Azam said that a special taskforce had been set up to conduct such raids, adding that apart from vice dens, they were also going after gay saunas and fitness centres.

“On Saturday, four men in their 30s and 40s, were picked up at a gay sauna in Jalan Burma at about midnight.

“Eight Thai women in their 20s, were also arrested for working as masseurs without any permits in Tanjung Tokong and Pulau Tikus at 11pm the next day,” he said.

He said police would come down hard on the operators who, he said, were getting bolder.

Comment : Despite warning, raids on entertainment centres, the numbers of foreign women caught or arrested for illegal activities are the increase. Its high time for the authority to take immediate stern action before its too late cause an unhealthy, unhygienic threat to malaysian.
