517,900 pupils sat for UPSR examination 2009

The results for the Primary School Achievement Test (UPSR) are expected to be released in the last week of the school term.

The Malaysian Examinations Syndicate is expected to announce the date soon.

For the first time, all Year Six pupils sat for an Aptitude Test on the last day of their UPSR, which would be listed in the examination slip but would not count towards the final result.

Some 517,900 Year Six pupils sat for the examination held in September 2009.

On another matter, Alimuddin said the ministry was hoping to offer Japanese language as an option in more schools.
